Eureka Daylight Lodge No. 881
The Eureka Daylight Lodge was Consecrated on the 27″ of April, 1985.
At the Masonic Temple Dawson Street South Ballarat.
The Ceremony was conducted by the Most Worshipful Grand Master , The Hon. Mr Justice Asche Assisted by Grand Lodge Officers.
Wor Bro Frank Edward Beattie was Installed as Worshipful Master.
There were 52 Foundation Members.
A “Daylight Lodge” in Ballarat was the brain child of the late Wor Bro Frank Beattie, who worked tirelessly for a number of years to achieve his dream. Wor Bro Beattie was concerned that a number of elderly Brethren could no longer go out in the
vening to attend their respective lodges and that a Daylight Lodge was the answer.
The Lodge has had a successful history over the years and moved to Sebastopol Lodge Temple after Dawson Street closed. The closure of Sebastopol later meant the Eureka Daylight moved to the new Centre in Barkly Street, we enjoy the company of an average of 25 members at our regular meetings and still cater for elderly brethren.
We are initiating one or two new members annually together with a number of joining members.
